Fairmont Springs to Dolly Varden Campsite |

Fairmont Springs Headed out of Fairmont the clouds had a eerie note about them; later we were told that there were fires in the area. |

Traveling north on West Side Road to Invermere there was Windermere Lake on the east side. Invermere has a population of 2,858 which for the next couple of weeks would be the largest town we would encounter.. |

Deer in Invermere Invermere was a beautiful little town with two super markets. Knowing the food may be scarce for the next two days we stocked up on staples. When I came out of the store there was an elderly lady who was preparing to ride away on her electric tricycle the kind that the handicap often use. So striking up a conversation with this obviously British Canadian lady she revealed that the constable had visited her home and gave her a warning for speeding on the sidewalk. I found her story very humorous but I refrained from showing her how funny the picture in my mind of her speeding down the sidewalk and then of the constable giving her a warning. I think as much as being shocked by his attention she was proud of the fact that she was accused of it. |

The clouds were beginning to loom over the mountain side and we needed to head for cover. We got our tents up just in the nick of time before the rain. The campsite had water but no other facilities. So we broke out our dried meal and added water. It was quite tasty given the circumstances. |
Jon and this family of 5 boys were interested in the view |

| Mt Sinclair at
8684 ft peers down to us from the south. This area is conducive to
mountain goats and they thrive in the sharp sides of the massive cliffs. |
